The World Poker Tour (WPT) will revisit Pittsburgh‘s Rivers Casino twice in 2019. The poker tour's popular WPTDeepStacks series will visit the Pennsylvania casino in April and October.

Rivers Casino is once again making the city's New Year's Eve celebration possible by sponsoring the Rivers Casino New Year's Eve Fireworks on the Waterfront with two shows at 6 pm and midnight. The list is based mostly on Rivers Casino Pittsburgh Pa New Years Eve your country, as many bonuses are only valid to players from certain countries. However, other ranging factors, such as the bonus value and the casino's rating, have been added into the mix as well.

'Following an outstanding turnout (of) our first trip to Rivers Casino last October, WPTDeepStacks is proud to return to Pittsburgh for two more events in 2019,' said Chris Torina, executive director of the World Poker Tour's DeepStacks Tournament.

The first stop at Rivers Casino will occur between April 18-29. The 12-day event will feature 14 different tournaments, with buy-ins ranging between $150 and $1100.

The main event will cost $1,100 and carries a guarantee of $300,000. There will be three starting flights, with the first one on April 25. The tournament will conclude April 28.

Other notable events include the kickoff tournament. This first offering will have a $360 buy-in and at least $100,000 in the prize pool.

Although most of the tournaments will be no-limit hold 'em events, there will be a smattering of Omaha available for players. Most interestingly, event No. 3 will be a five-card PLO tournament.

'We are excited to be partnering with WPTDeepStacks once again and proud to showcase Pittsburgh to a global audience,' said Bud Green, assistant general manager at Rivers Casino.

The second stop at Rivers Casino will take place sometime in October. WPT hasn't posted any dates or events yet but has confirmed it will be visiting the Pittsburgh casino in the fall.

WPTDeepStacks makes a great first impression

WPTDeepStacks first made an appearance at Rivers Casino in October 2018. During the Main Event, WPT crushed its guarantee and reached a prize pool of more than $415,000.

Dustin Foster won $84,366 for his first-place finish, which was one of his biggest wins ever. Foster described the final table as a 'roller coaster,' but he went on to say that Pittsburgh is a 'beautiful city and (he) had a great time.'

Poker pro Matt Glantz said it was 'the biggest prize pool in Pittsburgh history.' So, it's no surprise WPT added the two stops this year.

As it happens, the Pennsylvania area has become a hotbed of poker and casino gambling activity in recent years. According to a 2018 American Gaming Association report, gross revenue at Pennsylvania's casinos ranked second in the nation, only behind Nevada. With the legalization of casino sports betting and the approval of upcoming online poker in Pennsylvania, those numbers should continue to grow.

Rivers Casino is an ideal host

Currently, Rivers Casino's poker room is 8,457 square feet, with 30 live cash tables and 24-hour food options.

Glantz credits part of the casino's success due to the 'great location.' Rivers sits conveniently near Pittsburgh's sporting arenas.
